Destination Deals ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to being transparent about how we handle information when you use our platform. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it. We keep it plain and honest — no legal jargon.
Anonymous device identifier
When you visit Destination Deals, your browser automatically generates a random
identifier and stores it locally on your device using browser localStorage.
This identifier is unique to your browser — it contains no personal information
and cannot be used to identify you. We use it solely to count unique visitors
to each city page so we can report honest engagement numbers to participating
businesses. It is never shared with third parties.
Hashed IP address
We record a one-way encrypted (SHA-256) version of your IP address when you
load a city's deals page. This hash cannot be reversed to identify you or your
device. It is used as a secondary signal for visitor counting and is never stored
in raw form.
Interaction data
When you tap "Visit Website" or "Get Directions" on a business listing, we record
that an interaction occurred along with your anonymous device identifier and a
timestamp. This data is aggregated and reported to Premium member businesses as
part of their monthly performance reports. No personal information is attached
to these records.
Contact form submissions
If you choose to contact us through our contact form, we collect the information
you voluntarily provide — which may include your name, email address, phone number,
and message. This information is transmitted through EmailJS directly to our inbox
and is not stored on our servers. We use it only to respond to your inquiry.
Destination Deals does not use traditional tracking cookies. We use browser localStorage to store your anonymous device identifier. You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser's site data or browsing history. Doing so will not affect your ability to use the platform — a new anonymous identifier will simply be generated on your next visit.
We use EmailJS to transmit contact form submissions to our inbox. EmailJS processes your submission in accordance with their own privacy policy, available at emailjs.com. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking services.
Anonymous visitor counts and interaction records are retained indefinitely for the purpose of generating business performance reports. Contact form submissions are retained only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and are not stored in any database we control.
Destination Deals is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our contact form, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy as our platform grows and our data practices evolve. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Destination Deals after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
